Seoul Fashion Week was amazing! I wanted this to be my first “official” introduction to Korean hip-hop music, so I bought tickets for both days and met some girls online that were going as well.
All of the fashion and styles were great but let’s be honest, I was there for the concerts. On the first day, there were performances by DOK2, The Quiet, Benzino, Dean, Cjamm, Vasco, Giriboy, Deadend and the list goes on. On the Second day Jessi, Bewhy, Dj Wegun, Dj Pumpkin, Jay Park, Gray and Loco performed.
Prior to coming to Korea, I knew nothing about Korean music and had never heard of these people. I honestly thought K-pop was the only type of music in Korea and to make matters worse, I thought all K-pop music was strictly ballads. I wish I was joking. I genuinely knew nothing. So when I heard about this festival and learned that these performers were some of the biggest names in Korean hip-hop I HAD to go. Seeing artist do what they love to do live is the best way to learn about a new place, I think.
I was genuinely amazed by all of these performances and they made me want to get to know the hip-hop scene in Korea a lot better!
